The Map

World Inverted reverses the familiar global map: the oceans are playable land, while today’s continents become vast internal seas. The 2500×1248 field lands almost exactly at a 50/50 split and supports 94 maritime-themed starts, from famous ships to ocean basins and undersea features. Familiar coastlines remain visible, but every strategic assumption is turned inside out.

The Battlefield

Former oceans create huge connected expanses separated by continent-shaped barriers. Narrow real-world straits often become land bridges or chokepoints, while old continental interiors open into enormous water bodies. Long-distance expansion is easy until borders become unmanageably broad. Use the recognisable outline to orient yourself, then think like a land power crossing the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans.
